MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL COUNCIL MEETING OF WELLINGTON TOWN COUNCIL HELD IN WELLINGTON UNITED REFORMED CHURCH HALL, FORE STREET, WELLINGTON ON MONDAY, 12TH MAY 2008 AT 7.25 PM
PRESENT: Councillor D. Mitton (Chairman), Councillor P. Critchard (Vice Chairman), Councillors R Bowrah, J. Clark, G. Copley, G. Goodwin, A. Govier, J. Govier, R. Henley, C. Hindley J. Lloyd, J. Reed, V. Stock-Williams, S. Walters, and N. Wilson.
Greg Dyke (Town Clerk) and Julia Thorne (Assistant to the Clerk). There were 6 members of the public present.
14706 ELECTION OF TOWN MAYOR FOR 2008-09
On the proposition of Councillor Goodwin seconded by Councillor Copley, it was unanimously agreed to elect Councillor Critchard as Town Mayor for 2008-09. Councillor Critchard signed his declaration of acceptance of office as Town Mayor. He thanked councillors for re-electing him as Town Mayor.
14707 ELECTION OF DEPUTY MAYOR FOR 2008-09
On the proposition of Councillor Mitton seconded by Councillor Bowrah, it was unanimously agreed to elect Councillor Reed as Deputy Town Mayor for 2008-09. Councillor Reed thanked councillors for re-electing him.

It was agreed to renew the annual subscriptions to Somerset Association of Local Councils, the Community Council for Somerset, the Council for the Protection of Rural England and South West Provincial Council.
